J.R.R.Tolkien author of the high fantasy works The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings and The Silmarillion, Tolkien visited the burren and spent time locally. This map of the burren has been inspired by the fantasy maps of Tolkien who was rumoured to have taken influence from his time here.
